“Stories worth keeping”

Preserve a life story for the generations still to come

I make video biographies, memoir films and family legacy documentaries that keep a loved one’s voice, face and stories together—so the people who come after can know them, too.

Meet James

Good stories are everywhere. The greatest ones deserve to be seen and heard, and I make sure yours is.

I’m a filmmaker and veteran location sound recordist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through James Lindsey Productions, I make documentaries, family legacy films and corporate videos that tell your story clearly, in picture and in sound.

Sound is where my career began. Working on professional productions taught me how a production really runs, and how much a story depends on every word being heard clearly.

How it works

A calm, simple process.

You bring the memories. I take care of the craft—and guide you through every step.

  1. Discovery

A short call to talk about whose story this is, who it’s for and what matters most. Together we shape the film and its scope.

  2. Interviews & archives

Relaxed, well-prepared interviews recorded with professional sound, plus the photographs, letters and home movies that bring the story to life.

  3. Edit & delivery

I shape everything into a clear, moving film with careful sound, and music if you’d like it, then deliver it privately for your family or team to keep and share.
